Coordinating Organisations (hereinafter referred to as KO)

Coordinating Organisations (hereinafter referred to as KO) are the key organisations operating within the Youth Voluntary Service (hereinafter referred to as JST) model. They implement and coordinate the programme across counties and municipalities.

Coordinating Organisation – an accredited non-governmental organisation operating in the Republic of Lithuania that ensures the participation of volunteers in the JST, cooperates with Host Organisations, and provides Host Organisations with methodological support regarding volunteers’ participation in the voluntary activities organised by Host Organisations.

HOW TO BECOME AN ACCREDITED KO?

The accreditation process for KO is administered by the Agency of Youth Affairs (hereinafter referred to as the JRA). Unlike the application process for Host Organisations (PO), which is open throughout the year, applications from prospective KO are accepted four times a year (once per quarter), with each application period lasting one month.

KO accreditation is carried out in accordance with the procedure established in the Description of the Youth Voluntary Service.

Organisations wishing to become KO must submit an accreditation application via the www.volunteering.lt system and provide the documents specified in the Description once the application period has been announced.

IMPORTANT: Only non-governmental organisations operating within the territory of the Republic of Lithuania are eligible to apply for KO accreditation.
