International volunteering
Want to volunteer abroad, start a project in your community or get young people involved in your organisation's work? The European Solidarity Corps, the EU funding programme for solidarity, makes it possible.
For 2021–2027, the programme has a total budget of EUR 1.009 billion to help young people volunteer across borders and create projects that make their communities stronger.
Who can take part?
- Young people aged 18–30 can volunteer abroad through international volunteering projects.
- Groups of young people (at least five) can run solidarity projects that respond to challenges in their own community.
- Organisations working with young people can apply for funding for projects that engage young people in solidarity activities.
What does the programme cover?
If you volunteer abroad, the programme covers all costs related to your project: travel, accommodation, local transport, language courses, training and health insurance. You also receive pocket money and a food allowance.
Organisations and groups planning a project submit an application with a justified budget. Applications are assessed by independent experts, and funding decisions are based on their scores and comments.
